On behalf of the new owners and operators of the Eastbrook Studios in Dagenham, we would like to thank you for the support and interest you have shown in our studios so far. Public support has been quite overwhelming.

As you know, our ambition is to build a world class centre for film and TV here in Dagenham. It will offer unrivalled facilities for the biggest and best international movie-makers, and generate new industries and opportunities for the whole of east London.

Over the last six months we've been working with architects and industry experts to finalise our designs and ensure that we can offer a comprehensive suite of flexible spaces, equipped with the state-of-the-art infrastructure that this highly competitive industry needs.

So, before we start construction, we propose to submit a number of changes to our planning permission. But before we do, we'd like your views.

What are we proposing?

We plan to make what's known as a 'Minor Material Amendment' application to the council. It asks for the following changes to the original planning permission:

  • a slight change in the roof line parapet on some of the stage buildings to allow for increased internal height of those stages to attract the high-end film and TV productions
  • alterations to the stages/support spaces to deliver a better scheme operationally, and
  • aesthetic redesign of the main entrance to create a campus style experience

Our updated plans are designed to maximise the use of the site so that we can engage the industry and start to deliver the jobs, training and supply chain opportunities that we promised to the local community.

Tell us what you think

We'd like to to hear from you.
