Changes to the House for Artists

We’ve started preparing the site for the House for Artists at 36-40 Linton Road, in the heart of Barking. It will become home to 12 artists and features ground floor studio space for the artists to work with the local community.

We are proposing to make a number of alterations to the plans and have applied for changes to the planning permission.

The main changes are:

• we want to reduce the overall height of building by about half a metre
• we will no longer be including the sloping canopies and columns at the front of the building, and
• we are improving the building to reduce energy consumption.

The planning committee will consider these changes on 30 November.
