Everdove Park – Volunteer call out!
We are pleased to announce that the winning name for the new meanwhile park co-designed with students from Greatfields School is Everdove park!
Everdove pays due to the location of the park on Dovehouse Mead and a reference to dove houses kept nearby in Tudor times. The dove also symbolises peace and the ‘ever’ refers to everyone, the park is open to all.
Our contractors Willmott Dixon are now on site building this park through their social values contribution to the borough. We are working towards getting this new space ready for the community to use with a launch event on Saturday 28 May. In the run up to this event Willmott Dixon will be running a series of volunteer sessions for residents to get involved in painting/planting and helping to transform the park.
