Barking's Heritage Art Trail

Barking's Heritage Art Trail begins in Short Blue Place - here you can see the Heritage Mural created and installed by artist, Jake Attewell in 2021, on the gable wall of 41 East Street.

The design was a response to a brief on: Barking's Lost Heritage which was informed by a public survey and initial research by the heritage volunteers for the Barking Heritage Project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The accompanying heritage mosaic trail was created and installed by artist, Tamara Froud. These mosaics also tell a story of Barking's past and like the mural are intended to inspire a bright future for Barking.

A bronze model of Barking Abbey, created by Setworks will be installed at the Curfew Tower in Spring 2022 - forming the final part of our Heritage Art trail.
