We need your views on our plan to build new homes at Brockelbank Lodge.

In a few months time, the council will begin to move the existing residents of Brockelbank Lodge to new, purpose-built housing at Grays Court. This means there is an opportunity to build new homes on the site of the old buildings.

We are proposing to build approximately 37 high-quality new homes for the council on the site, together with a new community facility. We expect these homes to be a range of one bed, two bed and three bedroomed homes. They will all be let by the council to local people on the housing list at affordable rents.

We also plan to build 16 supported homes for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our aim is to provide a supported environment for people with this condition, so that they can live independently and be close to their families.

The final part of our plan, is to build an exciting new space for the Becontree community. It would be flexible and modern to suit a range of different needs.

We will keep as many of the existing trees as possible, and we also plan to provide public open space, play areas and better landscaping to improve bio-diversity.
