Have your say on Stour Road informal colourful crossing!
The Mayor of London is supporting efforts to make The Fiddlers (Becontree Heath) a happier, healthier, and greener place through the Mayor’s Air Quality Fund. This is to make it easier for you to walk, wheel, and cycle.
As part of our works to make Stour Road adjacent to William Bellamy Primary School a greener, safer, more welcoming area we have installed an informal colourful crossing adjacent to the William Bellamy pupil entrance.
This informal colourful crossing is the first of its kind in Barking and Dagenham and is a pilot project. It is one of a range of measures we are introducing to make it safer and more enjoyable for children to get to school. We chose a colourful crossing because it’s more fun and will encourage the children to cross at the safest point, on this quiet residential road, in fact the design was chosen by pupils at William Bellamy school.
