Our objective at Gascoigne is to create a modern, sustainable new neighbourhood, providing significantly more and better-quality housing, in a mix of sizes, in an attractive, safe and healthy environment.
We're making great progress too. Last year the council gave outline planning permission for an exciting 850 home development along Abbey Road, on the Gascoigne estate in Barking. And, this will complement the work already underway to transform the eastern side of the estate.
Demolition is now underway on both the east and west sides of Gascoigne Road and consultation is underway in a number of areas on the plans to build new homes. It's an exciting time so watch this site for details.

Take a look at the Big Picture - our video and plan setting out our plans to create a walkable, safe, lively, well-connected, sustainable neighbourhood
Or, we can also offer you a virtual tour and more details of our planned new homes further along St Pauls Road, at the junction of Ripple Road.
Local residents have been talking about everything from the number of new homes to the rent levels, and about landscaping, play, parking, and car-free areas. Join the discussion here.
